Board of Directors Resumées

Reidar Michaelsen is the Board Member responsible for the Finance/Fundraising activities. He is an experienced executive with over 50 years of experience in the oil, construction, and financial industries. He developed an interest in renewable energies 9 years ago and has since pursued technology-based strategies together with Dr. Strack, leading to ETI Inc.’s inception.

Reidar started in accounting and finance before moving to the oil industry (Norsk Hydro). He then participated in developing GECO into a worldwide player in the seismic industry and was instrumental in the vision to become part of Schlumberger in 1986. After working for an oilfield construction company, he founded and served as Chairman and CEO of an investment company that formed PGS. Under him, PGS went public and formed several spin-offs, including a very successful oil company (Spinnaker), and became involved in FPSO activities. He held a partner and board member position in various investment and technology companies.

Reidar has a degree in economics and finance from Norway with an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, USA.


Dr. Kurt Strack holds the positions of President and CEO/CTO at ETI Inc. and has served as President of KMS Technologies since 1999. His extensive career includes a notable tenure as Chief Scientist for Baker Atlas/Western Atlas. Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Strack has received numerous accolades from prestigious international societies, including the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Yangtze University, Wuhan, China, recognizing his groundbreaking contributions to surface and borehole geophysics. For building KMS Technologies into a viable company, he received the Cecil Green Enterprise Award from the SEG in 2012. Since 2015, he has developed with Norwegian colleagues the strategic concept of using geophysical technologies for Green Energy

A distinguished figure in both industry and academia, Dr. Strack possesses a unique skill set focused on developing commercially viable, innovative solutions in the geothermal/hydrocarbon application spaces.

Kurt holds a Doctorate from the University of Cologne and an M.Sc. from Colorado School of Mines.  He maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including SPWLA, AAPG, ASEG, BDG, DGG, EAGE, EEGS, GRC, SPE, SEG, and TSEG. Dr. Strack's influence extends beyond mentoring colleagues in the global industry and academy, as he authored over 200 publications,1 book on CSEM, and holds 40 US patents. Notably, he is an Honorary Alumnus of the University of Cologne, Germany, serves on the Board of the German Institute of the Southwest, Houston, and the Advisory Board of the Yangtze University’ Key Laboratory of Exploration Technologies for Oil and Gas Resources (Ministry of Education of China). He also frequently teaches as an Adjunct Professor at various universities in the US, Germany, China, Thailand, and Indonesia.


Ruslan Nutrobkin is the COO of ETI Inc. and a board member. As an accomplished executive with experience in international business development, government relations, and general management, he is the global expansion engine. His career includes more than 17 years of international experience in senior management roles from the United States, Canada, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia. 

He worked for Weatherford, where his last role was Area Manager for Myanmar, and before that for Baker Hughes in the USA and Canada. He has also served as Operations Manager at MPRL E&P, developing the company's exploration portfolio in Myanmar.  

For the last 8 years, Ruslan has been part of the team at Narai Hayashi Co. Ltd. He is responsible for Sales, Revenue growth, Profitability, and other value targets, including quality, distribution, and customer service satisfaction. He helps ensure the company meets its high standards for product quality, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. Ruslan builds rapport with partners and agents in Asia, handling all issues related to daily business activities. 

Ruslan holds a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Moscow State Academy of Oil and Gas and is currently pursuing an MBA at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. 


Dr. Fred Aminzadeh serves on the Board of Directors at ETI Inc. He is President of FACT Inc., specializing in Seismic/Micro-Seismic technology, geothermal resources, carbon storage, and the development and application of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics capabilities for energy.  He is leading a new initiative:   Sustainable Natural Resources Development with Deep Learning. 

FACT Inc. is a technology, software development, training, and consulting company with an energy industry focus. Over the last few years, FACT’s focus has been on Energy Transformation using Artificial Intelligence and Data analytics. This included renewable energy (such as Geothermal Energy) and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). FACT has joined forces with many national laboratories and universities through DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL’s) SMART Initiative. SMART's current focus is to use machine learning to visualize and monitor CO2 injection into DOE’s carbon-safe sites. Fred supported academic endeavors, including leading USC Global Energy Network (gen.usc.edu), University of Houston Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics for Energy Exploration, and Production (AIM-DEEP (uh.edu), the University of North Dakota, and the University of Wyoming.  

Fred holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He worked at Bell Laboratories, Unocal (now part of Chevron), and dGB USA. He was also vice president (2009-2010) and President (2007-2008) of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Fred has over 400 publications, 14 books, and 4 US patents.  

Fred is a fellow of the IEEE and a recipient of the SEG Honorary Membership and Special Commendation awards. Fred’s many other awards include the Western North America Region Formation Evaluation Award, the Geothermal Research Council Best Paper Award, the SPE Western North America Region Faculty Award, the SPE Western North America Region Award for Reservoir Description and Analysis, membership in the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and the first Honorary Member of the Azerbaijan Oil Academy.
